Nebraska Business Development Center (NBDC)

The Nebraska Business Development Center (NBDC) provides professional consulting to start-up or existing small, for-profit businesses in Northeast and North Central Nebraska. Some areas of specialization are market research, marketing plans, loan packaging, business plans, strategic planning, financial planning, cash flow budgeting, and capital budgeting. Service is provided one-on-one, and all information is kept confidential.

Nebraska Department of Economic Development (DED)

The mission of the Nebraska Department of Development is to provide quality leadership and services that enable Nebraska’s communities, businesses, and people to succeed in a global economy. DED’s programs serve multiple functions: They support communities with development efforts, assist with starting, retaining, and expanding businesses, promote the state for business locations and expansions, and encourage increased traveler visits.

Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD)

NPPD has an economic development program with a full-time staff dedicated to promoting sustained economic growth in Nebraska. The team partners with NPPD’s retail division and wholesale customers, concentrating on positioning communities and regions for economic growth, assisting with expanding and retaining existing industries, and attracting new business. Job growth is one measure of the success of economic development efforts.

Apprenticeship is an industry-driven, high-quality career pathway where businesses can develop and prepare their future workforce. Individuals can obtain paid work experience along with classroom instruction. Apprenticeship programs are for people of all ages who want to earn a salary while they learn, gaining fundamental skills and knowledge. These programs allow employers to strengthen and build their workforce by providing a tailored, high-quality talent pipeline. Registered apprenticeship programs meet the needs of both employers and job seekers.

Northeast Nebraska Economic Development District (NENEDD)

NENEDD has resources available to fill financial gaps and aid businesses and industries in expanding and creating new job opportunities. We specialize in assisting with business recruitment, retention, and expansions. We can also help with business succession and transition planning.

Procurement Technical Assistance & Contracting (PTAC)

Procurement Technical Assistance (PTAC) is an NBDC program that helps Nebraska business owners sell products and services to local, state, and federal government agencies. All essential procurement consulting services are accessible to the business owner.

The Center for Rural Affairs

The Center for Rural Affairs’s mission is to establish strong rural communities, social and economic justice, environmental stewardship, and genuine opportunity for all while engaging people in decisions that affect the quality of their lives and the future of their communities. They lend to small businesses and homeowners in Nebraska and provide business training and technical assistance.

SBA helps small businesses get loans. The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) helps small businesses get funding by setting loan guidelines and reducing lender risk. These SBA-backed loans make it easier for small businesses to get their needed funding. Additionally, the SBA offers programs to help you start, plan, launch, manage, and grow your business.
